What I do

Hello, I'm Rachael and my role is to guide you through the challenging process of separation with compassion and understanding.  With over 20 years experience as a psychologist, and qualifications in law and Family Dispute resolution, I am dedicated to helping couples find common ground and resolve disputes.

Whether it's finances, parenting, or both, mediation aims to help you finalise the terms of your separation agreement, so you can  start moving forward with your life.

How I can support you

Separation can be an overwhelming and emotional time, filled with significant decisions and uncertainties about the future. I understand the complexities you face - the sadness, worry, anxiety, fear, and even anger and betrayal. As your mediator, I provide a safe and supportive space for both you and your ex-partner to make constructive decisions.  I am mindful and understanding of intense emotions and different personality styles, while prioritising the search for common ground so you can move forward with clarity.

A Balanced Approach

My role as a mediator is not to take sides, but rather to facilitate constructive conversations that lead to a workable separation agreement. Through a structured and respectful process, you both have an equal opportunity to speak and be heard, empowering you to find resolutions that meet your unique needs and circumstances.

Benefits of Mediation

The process is completely confidential, and is often one of the most effective ways to keep the costs of separation down. Prolonged legal and court battles often take a huge toll on people emotionally and financially. Mediations can be completed relatively quickly, and  can be either full or half day, depending on your needs.
